Hull head coach Phil Brown has already been busy this transfer window. In a bid to ensure his team avoid relegation in their debut Premier League season, he has already acquired thrice-capped French international Bernard Mendy, former Middlesbrough favourite George Boateng. As well as adding Craig Fagen for £750,000, and Geovanni, Peter Halmosi, and Tony Warner, all for free.
However, he still intends on bolstering his squad. Marlon King is another name he would love to see light up the Kingston Communications-sponsored stadium in Hull. Brown said to Sky Sports: "I spoke with Marlon with Steve Bruce's permission and the two clubs have agreed terms. It is taking its time because sometimes the ball is not in our court."
On even further acquisitions, Brown added: "In the main the chairman is playing ball and every club we are talking to tends to bat back - but we are waiting for the green light for three or four players and once we get that hopefully we can move on."
Before Hull were promoted, they were the biggest city in England to have never witnessed top-flight football.
